Wild on the Beach
Vintage beach art, decor, homewares, collectables and more very cool stuff for your beach pad!
Long-time Lorne locals, Murray and Sharon Walding have finally returned from the sunny climes of Noosa and relocated to their old digs.
It wasn’t the lure of the chilly weather that brought them back, it was the chance to start off a small business that has long been a dream of them both. They have opened a funky little shop near the bridge in Lorne’s main drag called Wild On The Beach, which specializes in homewares, decor, gifts and wild poster art aimed at all those looking to decorate a funky beach pad.
You might recall Murray’s book on Australian gig posters, Plastered – The Poster Art of Australian Popular Music? He’s delved into his collection of pop, jazz and beach posters to give the walls of the new shop serious wow factor. There’s the occasional surf movie poster and a small cabinet of cool collectables, but the slant is more beach culture than surf culture – have a look at their website wildonthebeach.com for more info. It’s also worth checking out their Facebook page.
Urbane, and sophisticated yet still retaining its sense of beach and fun – all this against the glorious backdrop of the Otways.
